George Randolph ChesterGeorge Randolph Chester was an American author, screenwriter, film editor, and director. He was born on January 27, 1869, and died on February 26, 1924. Chester was born on January 27, 1869, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He wrote popular books like Get-Rich-Qick Wallingford and Five Thousand an Hour: How Johnny Gamble Won the Heiress, both of which were turned into silent movies while he was still alive. James Bearsley Hendryx decided to try his hand at writing fiction after he had success selling stories to The Saturday Evening Post. This led him to quit his job at the Cincinnati Enquirer and move to New York City to write fiction. Elizabeth Chester, who was George Chester's first wife, got a divorce from him in 1911 because he was living with Lillian Josephine Chester at Gainsborough Studios in London. George and Lillian collaborated on a number of stories and plays. The Son of Wallingford (1921), which has been lost, was the only movie that George and Lillian made together.
