George Carroll Whipple IIIGeorge Carroll Whipple III, a lifelong resident of Putnam County, lives on his grandfather's farm, five miles from the historic Greek Revival courthouse. He founded Preserve Putnam County/the Whipple Foundation in 1999, helped establish and build Span Cornerstone Park, and replanted the courthouse elm trees. He is active in the Town of Carmel Historical Society, the Southeast Museum, the Kent Historical Society, Putnam County Land Trust, and the Putnam County Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
