Gennaro F VitoDr. Gennaro F. Vito is a Professor and a Distinguished University Scholar in the Department of Justice Administration at the University of Louisville. He also serves as a faculty member in the Administrative Officer's Course at the Southern Police Intitue, Vice Chair, and Graduate Program Coordinator. He holds a PhD in Public Administration from The Ohio State University. Active in professional organizations, he is a past president and fellow of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. He is also the recipient of the Educator of the Year Award from the Southern Criminal Justice Association (1991) and the Dean's Outstanding Performance Award for Research and Scholarly Activities from the former College of Urban and Public Affairs at the University of Louisville (1990), the Dean's Award for Outstanding Research from the College of the Arts and Sciences, and the President's Distinguished Faculty Award for Excellence in Research (2002).
