After completing her Post Graduation (M.A.) in Economics and Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), she adopted teaching as a profession. She taught for twenty eight yars in various schools of repute in Dehradun, Delhi, Jaipur and Mumbai. After her voluntary retirement, she went back to her roots.
