Gary GrippGary Gripp served in the Army before commencing towards his Bachelor Degree in English from Oregon State University. He earned his Master's from Western Washington University and continued towards his Doctorate in English at the Universities of Wiscosin and then Utah where he taught while he completed the coursework but not his dissertation. He realized he didn't want to teach but wanted to write. He next worked for the Forest Service for 22 years, 17 of those as a Wilderness Ranger.
