Gary G Corcoran

Gary G CorcoranA native Newfoundlander, Gary grew up around the bay in Riverhead, St. Mary's Bay, but spent his adulthood working in St. John's. He and his wife Gayle currently live in Paradise, NL with their beloved dog, Harry. Gary's interest in food and cooking tarted at an early age, and over time it grew to become a lifelong passion that he is proud to see in his sons Colin and Christopher, who have both become great cooks in their own right. Gary uses his love of food to connect with friends, bring crowds together and as a way to support charities across the Island. Gary finds inspiration everywhere, in his own kitchen and in his many travels around the world. A true foodie, Gary seems to find himself in the kitchen wherever he goes. He's found himself behind the stove at Charlie Trotter's restaurant in Chicago, in the kitchen with Jeremy Charles at Raymond's Restaurant, and helping some Newfoundland chefs at the James Beard House in New York City. He was even invited by the Royal Canadian Navy's Assistant Naval Attaché Gary Reddy to cook for the Assistant Naval Attachés Group in Washington D.C.-not once, but twice. When Gary was diagnosed with ALS, his focus turned to writing this cookbook, which is the culmination of almost 40 years of reading, learning, experimenting and being creative, with recipes from home and away.
