Gail Whitaker ThompsonGail Whitaker Thompson spent her early life on a horse farm on the Grand River just outside Caledonia, Ontario. She and her brothers had the advantage of of being introduced to many sports and outdoor activities by their father who was a highly decorted WWII veteran and avid sportsman. After graduation from Hamilton Teachers' College she taught school for several years before following her love of horses and becoming a professional trainer and rider. While living in Iran in the 1970's she trained the Iranian show jumping team for the Shah. When she settled in Richmond, Virginia, she opened an equestrian facility where she trained Hunter/Jumper horses and riders for the next forty years.
