Gail RingGail Ring is a retired commercial artist and lives with her husband Gene (of 57 years) in Stoughton, Wisconsin. She was an art major at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studied commercial art at MATC in Madison, was a commercial artist for 26 yeas and has been producing work through Gail Ring Studio since 1990. In the fall of 1990, they took their first trip to Door County. The beauty of the seasons have brought them back for years. Being an artist, she started taking photos and drawing some of their favorite places. She decided to add a little mouse sitting on a branch in one of her tree pictures. She gave it as a whimsical gift to a family friend, who loved it! This began a series of drawings that became ultimately: the "Chester" book.
