G Ray KerciuArtist Kerciu rose to prominence in 1963 after a solo exhibition at the University of Mississippi where Kerciu was arrested, and charged for allegedly violating a state law prohibiting desecration of the Confederate flag. A year later Kerciu accepteda teaching post at what is now known as California State University, Fullerton where he taught until he retired in 2002.
