Winner of The Jack Kirby Comics Industry Award, "Best Graphic Album 1984," for his translation of the epic poem, Beowulf. Co-winner of the Golden Apple Award, nominated for the Harvey Award and Will Eisner Comic Industry Award, "Best Graphic Novel 1987," for "Batman: Son of the Demon." He then moved his talents to Hollywood, where he contributed to film for over thirty years, and won the 1998-1999 Primetime Emmy Award for "Background Designer."
