Freddie TylerFREDDIE TYLER Freddie Tyler was born in Orlando, Florida and raised in Winter Park, Florida with his three older sisters and older brother. He is the son of E.Q. (Tim) Tyler and Audrey Waterman Tyler. He graduated high school from The Bolles School i Jacksonville, Florida in 1972. He was an outstanding swimmer, winning eight out of eight State Championships between 1968 and 1972. Freddie competed for the United States in the 1972 Olympic Games held in Munich, West Germany, where he won a gold medal as a part of the 800-meter freestyle relay. He was also a champion swimmer for Indiana University where he graduated with a degree in business in 1977. In 1980, Freddie began a thirty-fiveyear teaching and coaching career at West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida. Freddie married his wife Renee in October of 1980, and they have three children (Brian, Jennifer, and Bridget) and three grandchildren (Ethan, Kyla, and Cohen). While he claims his salvation came as a young man, he acknowledges that it wasn't until December 26, 2005 that he allowed Jesus to take control of his life.
