Yost co-owned. He completed his education at the Ohio State University in Columbus and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He combined his business with Joseph W. Yost's in 1892 to become Yost & Packard, which was eventually dissolved in 1900. In 1922, Packard designed the American pavilion at the Rio de Janeiro World's Fair.
