Frances Purnell DampierFrances Purnell-Dampier was born in Winona, Mississippi, and grew up in the small town of Greenwood, Mississippi. She is presently a retired educator after thirty-nine years of service. Frances taught English at Sunnyvale Middle School for over twent years and later became assistant principal and principal there in the Sunnyvale School District. She was the Principal of Sunnyvale Middle School and the Principal of Bishop Elementary School in Sunnyvale, California. Frances acquired her Bachelor of Science Degree at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, and her master's degree in administrative services at La Verne University in California.Frances is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Her biography is included in both Who's Who of American Women (1989-90) and International Who's Who (2000) editions. Frances has successfully been published in two works of poetry. Her poems include "Barack Obama" in Collected Whispers and "America's Unraveling" in Stars in Our Hearts." Frances has also written three spiritually impactful books. Her first was a memoir, "Cuddled in God's Hands." The second was "Miracles Blossom from the Spirit Within." Her third book was, Thank You Jesus, You Never Change." The fourth book was a children's book," My Grandmother and Me." Finally, a southern and California-style deliciously tasty cookbook was done, "Tidbits of Heaven."Frances has three sons, three daughters-in-law, eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two grandchildren by marriage, and two sisters.
