Faith Compton MacKenzie

Faith Compton Mackenzie (1878-1960) was the first wife of celebrated novelist Compton Mackenzie, author of Whisky Galore! and many other works. She was a close friend of Norman Douglas whom she had met while living on Capri in 1918. She lived in te wake of her husband's enthusiasms for island living. An accomplished pianist and gardener, she was the author of music criticism, several biographies, a collection of short stories, and two novels. Tatting was her last work, based on the first months of her marriage.
