Educated at Homewood Secondary School, Tenterden, leaving at the age of 15 ears at Easter, soon after my birthday, with no qualifications whatsoever. The only place that I wanted to work was on the farm. There I was in my 'comfort zone' - at one with the countryside, nature and all creatures great and small.
