Eve AxonI was born in Liverpool during the second world war. I was the youngest of 3 children. When I was 5 I started school. My uniform was purchased with coupons as we were still on rations. I enjoyed school, although being left -handed was not acceptable.Have the ruler across my knuckles, I soon learned to write with my right hand. I left school at 15 and had various jobs until I moved to Rugeley in Staffordshire, aged 20. Susan was born 2 years later. Aft er problems in the marriage, I was divorced when Susan was 3. I moved back to Liverpool to live with my sister. I later moved to Beaconsfield. Needing accommodation with my job, I worked with 2 different families and later became matron of a residential home for the elderly. During a visit to Manchester, I met Ron at his Church.
