After graduating with a degree in biology, for years I worked on food, water and nutritional information issues at private companies and public agencies.In the 1990s I specialized in dietary control of insulin and omega-3/omega-6 fatty acids for the prevention of overweight, obesity and many related chronic diseases.In the meantime, I studied in Italy, the Mediterranean diet, at La Sapienza University of Rome, and delved into the Zona dietary method devised by American biochemist Barry Sears, which deals with the hormonal response to food. I then returned to America with the knowledge and recognition gained in Italy that allowed me to study and delve into a new American nutritional reality. The topics concern a renewed proposal elaborated on the basis of data from the National Institute of Nutrition, but aimed at regulating fat mass and controlling many diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and other diseases that are becoming increasingly common in today's Western society.In 2012, I felt the need to write my first book that would act as a link between Sears' American method and Italian foods, products and habits.
