Eugenia B Schultheis Born in Shanghai in 1913, Eugenia Schultheis spent her first seventeen years in China, living in Shanghai, Beijing and the much-revered, historic city of Hangchow. After receiving a bachelor's degree from Randolph-Macon Women's College, at Lynchburg Virginia, and completing her graduate work in Columbia University's Department of Chinese Studies, Ms. Schultheis returned to China, where she became a teacher of English and a college librarian, and resumed her extensive travels through Asia.
