Eugene H BenedictGene Benedict, a Florida native, attended Warner University, in Central Florida where he obtained a BA in Pastoral Ministries and Minor in Bible. He was involved in full and part-time Christian ministry in Florida, Illinois, Oklahoma and Texas as an ssociate Pastor, Youth Minister and Interim Pastor. In 1990, Gene earned an MA in Counseling at St. Mary's University in San Antonio and is a Marriage and Family Therapist. He worked with troubled children and teens for Texas MHMR and has specialty training in the area of domestic violence and chemical dependency. A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and certified in supervision, Gene is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Gene was an adjunct professor at Texas A&M and has been a guest presenter at numerous retreats and workshops. For three years, Gene was a men's group facilitator for a Christian-based domestic violence recovery program. He has been a counselor at Methodist Hospital and Laurel Ridge Treatment Center. For five years, Gene was an Associate Pastor and Counselor at Harvest Fellowship and is currently in private practice in San Antonio, where he and his wife, Carolyn, have lived since 1979. They have two daughters and 7 grandchildren and are active members of Community Bible Church.
