Ernest GlanvilleErnest Glanville (5 May 1855 in Wynberg - 6 September 1925 in Rondebosch) was a Cape Colony and subsequently South African author best known for his short stories, which are extensively read and taught in South Africa. He also written 17 historical boks. Glanville studied at St. Andrew's College in Grahamstown from January 1869 to May 1871. His education was cut short when he and his father brought the first printing press from Grahamstown to Griqualand West by ox cart in 1870 and started running a newspaper in Kimberley. In addition to his literary accomplishments, he worked as a journalist for the Cape Argus and other newspapers, and he collaborated with Dr MacGowan on the 1905 Jubilee Hymn.
