Ernest AmbroseERNEST AMBROSE was born in Long Melford, Suffolk in 1878, the son of a foreman at the local coconut matting factory. Ernest worked as clerk in the same factory before setting up his own photographic studio in the village. Apart from a brief interludeserving with the Suffolk Regiment during the First World War, he spent almost all his long life in Melford.
