Eric SeanEric Sean is a life purpose coach who found his calling by helping people move past trauma, hardship and low self-esteem, towards regaining their hope, self-value and love of life. Unlike many life coaches who come from relatively privileged backgrouds and extend their insights to similarly privileged clients, Eric's approach to his vocation is deeply sympathetic to those who have suffered, rooted in his lived experience of trauma and purposelessness. Eric was born in a women's correctional facility in Cleveland, Ohio to a sixteen-year-old mother with a drug addiction. He spent the first nine years of his life in foster homes where he experienced physical, emotional and sexual abuse. Like so many others who endure emotional trauma at a young age, Eric developed an addiction as a coping mechanism. From the age of fourteen, Eric struggled with his addiction, unable to find change in the revolving doors of treatment and support programs. During a long night at the age of thirty-five, knowing he did not want to die but feeling a desperate inability to go on, Eric turned to God and asked for help. Help came in the form of an old acquaintance who was now a Buddhist practitioner. Eric's curiosity led him to an understanding of the Buddhist perspective. He came away from the experience with the realization that it is ultimately our responsibility to change the world around us, the power is ours. One by one people came into Eric's life who helped him develop his spiritual awareness until he eventually found himself on the other side of addiction and hopelessness. Determined to change his life for the better, Eric began his career in the fitness industry twenty-seven years ago, selling gym memberships for a corporation. Over time, Eric recognized that people suffering from emotional distress caused by their weight and negative self-image needed more personalized attention than the depersonalized gym environment could provide. This led him to open up his home where he began training clients in an intimate, supportive environment more conducive to self-development. Eric began to develop his unique ability to touch the lives of others and through his efforts discovered his love for helping his clients recognize their value. Eventually, he became an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer. In 2012, inspired by the positive impact he was having, Eric became a Certified Life Purpose Coach . He got his start following a technique developed by Anthony Robbins called Strategic Intervention. This experience would pave the way for Eric to create his own system, Deliberate Self Dialogue (DSD). DSD is a method designed to help clients recognize failure based thoughts and negative self-talk while guiding them towards positive thoughts, compassionate self-talk and a strong belief in their worth. Eric has authored two books, Deliberate Self Dialogue: The Great I Am and Deliberate Self Dialogue: Mastering Emotions, that expound on the value of DSD as a technique of personal empowerment. In 2013 Eric published his debut book On Broken Wings. The deeply personal autobiography goes into detail about the choices he made throughout his life and how he eventually discovered a spiritual solution for each of his challenges. In the book, he is open and transparent about his most private fears and trials. In sharing his personal story Eric demonstrated that even on damaged and broken wings, anyone can soar. As a life purpose coach, motivational speaker and interfaith minister, Eric believes in the potential of everyone he meets and in the power of love to drown out the voices of hatred. His life's mission is to touch, empower, and transform one spirit, mind and body at a time, until the whole world is transformed. He is incredibly passionate about helping the world learn and lead with love. His love for his clients, the world, and what he does is evident to everyone who meets him. https: //www.eric-sean.com/ Read More Read Less
