Eric RouleauEric Rouleau (born Elie Raffoul, 1926-2015) was a journalist and diplomat born in Cairo. After his forced exile from Egypt in 1951, he began writing for Le Monde in 1955, becoming the newspaper's reporter on the Near and Middle East in he early 1960s. In 1985 he was appointed as France's ambassador to Tunisia, and from 1988 to 1992 he was ambassador to Turkey.
