Emrys PhillipsEmrys Phillips works at the British Geological Survey in Edinburgh and currently holds an Individual Merit post in recognition of his research into the macro- and microscale analysis of soft-sediment deformation in relation to glacier movement and ic sheet dynamics. He obtained degrees from the universities of Manchester (BSc, MSc) and Cardiff (PhD). His primary role at the British Geological Survey is to provide detailed specialist scientific input into the multidisciplinary science program and he currently leads the Seafloor, Coasts and Landscapes group as part of its Environmental Challenge. He has gained extensive experience in the field of Earth Science working on a variety of research and commercial projects throughout the UK, Iceland, North America, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, as well as increasingly offshore.
