Emmanuel KasimbaziProfessor Emmanuel Kasimbazi (b.1964) obtained LLB from the University of Dar es salaam, Tanzania, Diploma in Legal Practice from LDC, Kampala, Uganda, LLM from the University of Calgary, Canada, PhD from the University of Kwazulu-Natal, Durba, South Africa, and he is a Professor in the Department of Public and Comparative Law at the School of Law and Chair, Environmental Law Centre at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. He is also a legal consultant, researcher and advocate of the High Court of Uganda. He is also currently teaching Environmental Law, International Environmental, Natural Resources Law, Criminal Law and Planning Law. He is currently the Chairman of the East African Association of Impact Assessment. He has acted as the Dean of Law, Makerere University. Professor Kasimbazi has also been involved in drafting and reviewing environmental and energy-related legislation in Uganda and has consulted for many international and national agencies including the World Bank, African Development Bank ( AfDB), United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), European Union, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Habitat, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA).
