Emily BrisseEmily Brisse's writing has appeared in publications including The Washington Post, The New York Times, Parents Magazine, Creative Nonfiction's True Story, The Sun, Ninth Letter, Lumina, and River Teeth. Her work has been shortlisted for the Curt Johnon Prose Award and Invisible City Award, nominated for Best of the Net and the Pushcart Prize, and awarded a Minnesota Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant. She takes great satisfaction in cultivating an appreciation in others for language and storytelling, which is probably why she teaches high school English during the weekdays and creates journals for individuals and parents in her spare time.
