Emilio RodriguezEmilio Jorge Rodríguez is a Cuban essayist and literary critic. The Havana University graduate is a former director of Casa de las Américas Center of Caribbean Studies, where he was also a researcher from 1979 to 2000. Rodríguez founded and edited >Anales del Caribe from 1981 to 2000. He has lectured at universities in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the USA. Rodríguez is the author of Literatura caribeña; bojeo y cuaderno de bitácora (1989) and Acriollamiento y discurso escrit/oral caribeñ (2001). He has edited several anthologies of Caribbean writers, and has contributed essays to numeous books, including América Latina: Palavra, Literatura e Cultura (1995), A History of Literature in the Caribbean (1997), and Encyclopedia of Caribbean Literature (2006).
