Eman E TaherDr. Eman E. Taher is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Clinical Parasitology at the Research Institute of Ophthalmology. The institute studies and performs different diagnostic techniques for parasites especially those affecting the ees. Dr. Taher is the head of the Clinical Parasitology Unit. His extensive work has been on the diagnosis of Acanthamoeba, Toxoplasma, Toxocara and Schistosomiasis, as well as other different parasites, which has yielded over 20 papers, with different faculties, post-doctoral fellows and students. Additionally, Dr. Taher has also completed extensive research on different molecular diagnostic techniques for different parasites including electrophoresis, PCR, Western blot, DNA-extraction, ELISA and dot-ELISA. In addition, to stem cell preparation, characterization being a member of the stem cell laboratory at the Research Institute of Ophthalmology, he earned a six-month scholarship at the Eye and Ear Institute, Pittsburgh University, USA.
