She received her M.A. and Ph.D. from Loyola University Chicago, with areas of specialization in colonial and early national US history, social and cultural history, and the history ofthe European Union. She has 25 years' experience teaching world civilization and the US survey at Loyola, Judson College, and Kennesaw State University.
