Traveling to Czechoslovakia, then Israel, and finally settling in Buffalo Fixler grew up to become a successful trial lawyer, trying cases from Connecticut to California. His reputation for courtroom pyrotechnics placed him in the center of countless fascinating cases. An ardent sports fan, his success in the courtroom was matched by his children's many triumphs on the basketball court.
