Ellie Archer'The Leaf Gurl' is a story of playing in nature, friendship and imagination. 'The Leaf Gurl' was conceived, written, and hand illustrated by Ellie Archer when she was six-year-old. This story was written during the COVID pandemic lockdown. Ellie is astudent at the Carderock Springs Elementary School in Potomac, Maryland, USA. She loves playing with her friends, especially around trees, plants, and grapevines. She has fond memories of her Redbird friends at the Suburban Nursery School, which inspired the adventures in this story. Ellie is also a member of the Mensa Society.Ellie narrated and directed the adaptation of 'The Leaf Gurl' as a short animation film. The animation adaptation was competitively selected by multiple juries in top international film festivals. One of the festival juries released a statement that Ellie's work is an "inspiration to younger and older film makers alike".
