Elizabeth R. Gebhard
Elizabeth R. Gebhard is Professor Emerita of Classics and Mediterranean Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago and serves as Research Associate at the University of Chicago and at Edinburgh University, UK. Dr. Gebhard served as irector of the theater excavations at Stobi from 1970-1981 and Director of the University of Chicago Excavations at Isthmia from 1976 to 2024. Publications include The Theater at Isthmia (1974) and numerous articles about Isthmia, its cults and monuments, and about the ancient theater at Stobi.
