Elise S BenyoELISE SCHOTT BENYO (b. 1914 d.1977) was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter of two native Californians, Franklin T. Schott, son of Adelia B. Kimball and John Schott of Antioch, and Catherine B. Meyer of Sonoma County.Mrs. Benyo received her A.B. i history and her teaching cre¬dential from the University of Utah in 1935. She did graduate work at the University of California at Berkeley. She taught at West and South High Schools in Salt Lake City until February 1946, when she and her husband, Michael Benyo, just discharged from the Army Air Force after World War II, moved to Antioch. She had been vacationing in California ever since she can remember and has many fond memories of the beauty of "traditional" California. She is the mother of three, and the grandmother of three.History has always been of deep interest to her. She researched the material for the history of Antioch used in the Centennial of July, 1951. She is the past president of the Antioch: Woman's Club during its fiftieth year and updated the Club's history as part of the celebration in February, 1952. She is a founder and past president of the Antioch Branch of the American Association of University Women.Since 1955 she has been teaching in the Antioch School District.Mrs. Benyo has great faith in the young people of today.
