Elisa Love StowellAuthor and artist Elisa Love, born and raised in Boulder, Colorado, began river rafting as a teenager. She moved to New York City and worked as a scenic artist for several theatrical productions. She moved back to Boulder, married Otsie Stowell, and ave birth to three children. Their son died after a year of overwhelming health struggles. The couple began taking their two daughters rafting almost as soon as they could walk.During the 1990s, Elisa began her second career as an elementary school teacher in Boulder.
