Edward A LoyEdward Atkinson Loy has been a resident of Albany since 1945. Soon after retirement he began volunteering at the Albany Regional Museum, focusing on writing articles for the museum newsletter and absorbing a sense of the town's history.In 2010 he wroe Tim Burr!, a history of the long-running Albany Timber Carnival published by the Albany Regional Museum. In 2011 he began to research the history of Albany, from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. The result is Gem of the Willamette Valley: A History of Albany, Oregon, also a museum publication.Loy earned bachelor's and master's degrees in history at the University of Oregon.
