Edesio Sánchez CetinaEdesio Sánchez Cetina is Mexican, and resides in San José, Costa Rica. One of the main Latin American biblists of today. He has a Master's and Doctorate (PhD) at the Union Prebiterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia, United States; Honorary Degree of octor of Biblical Letters (DLB) from the International Institute of Higher Studies, Mexico City. He is emeritus consultant of biblical translations with the SBU (United Bible Societies) in Latin America. He has participated in the following translations of the Bible as a Consultant: Maya from Yucatán, Mexico; ´Tzotzil from Chiapas, Mexico; Paraguay Guaraní; Miskitu and Sumo from Nicaragua; Poqomchí from Guatemala; Kuna of Panama; Bible Study of God Speaks Today (DHH); General Coordination of Current Language Translation (TLA). Head of the Translation Department for all publications for children. Member of the Society of Biblical Literature (USA and international), and member of the Latin American Theological Fraternity (FTL).
