Currently he is involved in the Ashokan-Pepacton Watershed Chapter of Trout Unlimited, as well as maintaining memberships in other regional organizations.Given years of involvement with trout stream conservation, he received several local, regional, and national recognitions for these activities including the Salmo Award from Theodore Gordon Flyfishers in 1981 and Trout Unlimited National's Trout Conservation Award in 1982.
