Dubs ByersWilliam Dubs Byers, EdD, served 39 years with the Arkansas Corrections School System. He spent 20 years at Cummins as a teacher and principal in the school for inmates. In addition, he served 19 years in the central office as assistant superintendentand superintendent. After his retirement in 2014, he served as pastor of First Baptist Church in Dumas, Arkansas, for five years. He currently serves on the Arkansas Board of Corrections, having been appointed by Governor Asa Hutchinson. Dubs has always had a keen interest in prison history and has an extensive collection of photos and memorabilia, along with hours of taped interviews with former employees and inmates. Dubs grew up in Hope, Arkansas. He and his wife, Jane, have been residents of Gould, Arkansas, since 1975. Read More Read Less
