Douglas LockwoodDouglas Wright Lockwood was an Australian newspaperman and author. From the age of 16 he worked as a report for rural Victorian newspaper he left home at 16 and worked as a reporter on rural Victorian papers before joining Melbourne's 'The Herald in 941. He was sent to Darwin and reported on the first Japanese attack on Australia in February 1942. Lockwood won the Walkley award for journalism in 1958 for Best Piece of Newspaper Reporting.
