Doug McKimDoug McKim was born a hundred million years ago in the state of Oregon. His childhood was spent in the small towns of Baker City and Halfway, where he watched TV, sneaked around, and lied to his parents. He often made false claims that his siblings hd done wrong, or took the rap whenever his siblings made false claims of his wrongdoing. He began his writing career by penning poorly-executed rip-offs of Edgar Rice Burroughs and Dr. Seuss. Once he left high school (without a diploma, no less!) McKim mostly slacked, watched movies at a local bijou, and wrote poorly-executed rip-offs of STAR WARS and DAWN OF THE DEAD. He finally earned a GED at the age of twenty-one, and continued his life ambitions of being a slacker. Eventually, he took on the responsibilities of a journalist for small-town newspapers (something of a dead-end), or worked as a gravedigger at a nearby cemetery (truly a dead-end!). He also did his part to promote ecological concerns by chopping down trees in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest.Once his parents grew tired of his slacking, McKim attended Eastern Oregon University in La Grande. There, he attempted to major in History, English, and Education. In actuality, he studied beer bottles and shot glasses. He once led the police on a high-speed chase through dark alleyways (by exploring the nudist lifestyle where it wasn't permitted). Leisure time meant staring endlessly at barroom mirrors, lamenting on what might have been.McKim gave up his life ambitions of being an alcoholic and drugged out writer on November 23rd, 1989. He hasn't indulged in booze since then. However, he continues struggling with his addiction to caffeine drinks and candy bars.McKim earned a History Degree from Eastern Oregon University, in June of 1991.Doug McKim has performed both paid and volunteer work for the elderly, the disabled, and at-risk and troubled youth. He also utilized his talents as a writer for economic and community development.McKim is the author of five books; Are You Man Enough? (co-written with Richard McKim, 2010), Just Plain Old Jeremy (2012), One Day in the Life of Marty McKenna (2013), Love, Death, and Art (2017) and the upcoming Harvey Madden (2022).One may surmise that much of this biography is a poorly-executed attempt at humor, with childlike (or childish) tendencies of exaggeration.Doug McKim was not born a hundred million years ago. He was actually born 99,999,999 years ago. Read More Read Less
