Donald CannMartha Campbell was born in Nashville in 1907. Campbell, who worked during World War II as a U.S. Army statistical analyst, earned a master's degree in educational psychology and art education. Following the war she moved to Abington, where she serve as the curator of the Old Abington Historical Society for twenty-five years. In addition, Campbell supervised the transcription of the Cyrus Nash papers, worked as the Plymouth County archivist, and wrote hundreds of historical columns for the Rockland Standard from 1965 to 1985.
