Donah StricklinDonah Stricklin: I was born on the day before the 4th of July to a working couple in a small town in central Texas. All births are unique of course, but mine was extra special, maybe even charmed because the 3rd is also my great-grandfather's birthda. How many people can boast of that distinction? I was given piano lessons as a child, progressed to the flute and graduated with honors from high school. I have since penned poetry and short stories mostly of a personal nature and experiences. It wasn't until later in my adult life that my short stories appeared in an area magazine, and when I retired from THE postal service as a rural mail carrier I started traveling and reviewing the trips for the local newspaper. That was fun and included forty-nine states and some of Canada. My days are filled with a perpetual love of nature and the animals I spoil with feed and watch daily. I enjoy 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku, the Dallas Cowboys and my Texas Rangers even when they're losing and collecting things like Beanie Babies, world globes mostly from my travels, and lots of cats, but only two of the live variety right now. We live in my country home of 35+ years located on a lake just miles from where I grew up and that years ago my mom gave the name of "McDonah's Farm". Read More Read Less
