He has served as Professor and Head of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture at Lead City University, Ibadan, Nigeri. He is an award-winning poet, playwright, and theater director. Some of his awards include: Ina Coolbirth Prize for Poetry, The James D. Phelan Literary Award for Playwriting, and The San Francisco Full Circle Theater Award.
