She has been working in the drug treatment field for over thirt years. She is a previous Council member of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs. She co-authored Club Drugs and Novel Psychoactive Substances: The Clinician's Handbook (Cambridge University Press, 2020) with Owen Bowden-Jones and sits on the Editorial Board of Drugs, Habits and Social Policy (formerly Drugs and Alcohol Today).
