Devender SinghDr. Devender Singh is an associate professor in the Department of English, University of Delhi. He has an extensive 22 years of experience in teaching English Literature and Language. His teaching career as permanent faculty commenced in 2006 at Ram al Anand College (Evening) of Delhi University, where he served until the institution transformed into Aryabhatta College, a full-fledged day college, in 2015. In addition to his role in the University of Delhi, he served on deputation as the Director In-charge and Academic Head in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India for 4 years. During this period, he successfully completed two significant projects valued at 300 crores within budget and time constraints. Alongside his administrative and academic responsibilities, Dr. Singh has made noteworthy contributions as a researcher and policy maker. His work has been duly recognised and honoured. His accolades include the Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar Award 2019, Global Gandhi Award 2019, and Ambedkar Ratna Award 2018.Beyond his academic pursuits, Dr. Singh has actively engaged in public speaking, delivering speeches, lectures, and organizing seminars and conferences both in India and abroad. He has contributed to various forms of media, including books, research articles, newspaper articles, and has been featured on radio and television programs in India and internationally. He has also published several poems in national and international magazines. His work which has been widely appreciated is Velley 370: Purna Vilay Ki Gaatha which a wonderful play. In all his works nationalism, patriotism and Indian Knowledge Tradition are the major themes.
