Debra Reddin van TuyllDebra Reddin van Tuyll is professor of communications at Augusta State University, where she teaches journalism and public relations. She is the author or editor of three other books: The Civil War and the Press, The Southern Press in the Civil War ad Knights of the Quill: Confederate Correspondents and Their Civil War Reporting. Knights of the Quill was a finalist for the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communications' 2011 Tankard Award for the best book in mass communications. Her fourth book, The Third Stripe: A Cultural History of the Confederate Press, will be published in 2012. Van Tuyll is married to Dr. Hubert van Tuyll, chair of the ASU Department of History, Anthropology and Philosophy, and they have one daughter, Laura. Scott Hudson is WGAC's award-winning investigative reporter. He is an honors graduate from Augusta State with a degree in political science and history. He studied media law and ethics with Dr. Van Tuyll at Augusta State. Scott's style of reporting has been noted as being different from others in that not only does Scott consider himself an activist journalist, he also tends to add humor to his reports.
