Deborah Tuhy SimmonsDeborah Simmons prepped for cross-cultural mission work by coming from a family steeped in pastors, and growing up in New Jersey, Ireland, and Norway. She and her husband later traveled extensively, with only a tent, a duffel bag, and a willingness t eat anything. Her training was in church parish work and administration, but her jobs have also included library clerk, secretary, Special Education instructional aide, literacy administrator, and a sprinkling of others lost to memory. She lives with Art Simmons, a retired campus ministry pastor, and her husband of almost 50 years. Together, they are authors of Create in Me: Growing in Faith Through Young Adult Bible Study. After years of jumping at loud noises, checking her shoes for scorpions, and scanning dim corners for giant spiders, she now lives in the relatively undisturbed peace of Columbia, Missouri.
