Wilson (Ph.D., Psychology, Vanderbilt, 1988) is a Research Associate Professor in the Prevention Research Center and Department of Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior of the University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health. Se also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University. Her major research interests are in health promotion in youth, health psychology and behavioral medicine, and prevention and epidemiology. She is active in the Society of Behavioral Medicine, APA Divisions 38 (Health Psychology) and 12 (Pediatric Psychology), and other associations. In 1997, she received a Recognition of Significant Contribution to Health Psychology from APA for her editorship of "Health-Promoting & Health-Compromising Behavior Among Minority Adolescents." She has received the SBM Distinguished Service Award (2000) and has attained Fellow Status for Scientific Achievement in both SBM (2000) and APA Division 38 (2001). She is widely published.
