David L HogganDavid L. Hoggan (1923-1988) was born and grew up in Portland, Oregon. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After study at Reed College, he went on to graduate work at Harvard University where, in 1948, he earned a Ph.D. in history. After Hrvard, he studied and taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Amerika Institut of the University of Munich, the University of California at Berkeley, San Francisco State College, and Carthage Lutheran College in Illinois.Harry Elmer Barnes, one of the most influential American historians of the twentieth century, was impressed with Hoggan's work.
