David John Friel

David John FrielWriting has been a common thread throughout most of David Friel's life. He began writing stories in elementary school and wrote for his high school newspaper. David went on to study journalism in college and spent many years working as a freelance wrter. Although becoming a teacher in 2013, David never strayed far from writing. In 2019, he combined his love of children with his love of writing by self-publishing his first children's picture book, "Ferdinand's Fear of Flying," which the native Ohioan wrote while teaching in Shanghai, China. The story centers on themes of courage, self-confidence and overcoming fears, and features magnificent pictures by Filipino artist, Ronaldo Florendo.
